Anacapa Wavepower was selected (through parent company, Dehlsen Associates, LLC) for their project: Co-Development of Wave Energy and Modular Floating Desalination within the U.S. Department of Energy’s announcement of support for 25 small business-led hydropower and marine energy projects through the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program.
Anacapa will develop a wave energy converter (WEC) to work with SeaWell’s floating modular desalination system that could support a microgrid for remote, coastal, and island areas while helping to meet drinking water needs. This project will focus on advancing the wave energy and desalination systems so they work in tandem.
